290 trailer in the Keys

Postby Billablehours » Wed Apr 13, 2016 11:38 am

Folks, I need to get my motors serviced and my local marina can't lift the boat. I was wondering if anyone in the lower Keys has a 290 trailer I could use just to get the service done? I would not be using it to haul the boat around but just to the facility for service. The boat is on my elevator on Big Pine Key.

Of course I would be willing to pay a couple hundred dollars. Dinner at Square Grouper. :D

Thanks but with my truck I could probably buy a trailer for the fuel cost.

What service are you doing? I've done my fluids, filters, even water pumps with no problem. And I'm not especially mechanical. Plus, it gives me piece of mind knowing I may be able to address/fix something in a pinch.

I just need the annual hundred hour type service but dropping the lower unit on an elevator is too much of a pain. I would have to tie the flats boat under it and deal with that. That's ok for an oil change. Illegal in the Keys but it can be done.

Hey don't know if he would rent it, but I sold my 290 to a guy named Steve Jobe 214-316-1841. He took it to key largo along with the trailer. I have not seen him on the forum, but you man reach out to him and see if he is willing to rent the trailer. Just ordered my 295 cc yesterday! So excited! Good luck.

I use Garrison Bight in KW for service. They have Spencer's haul it out with a sling lift. If the work can be done while on the lift and not have to block and sit it the price isn't too outrageous, for KW that is.
