recovering bolsters and bench seat

I am currently recovering the bolsters and bench seat on my 1999 266SF. I want to be as close as original as possible to what world cat is currently using.
Phyllis, if you are monitoring this, how would I help the company that I am using for the recover, find the correct vinyl? I'm hoping they might source it from whoever world cat is using to build the interiors. I'm sure it is probably different from what was used in 1999. The seams are a lot wider on the existing vinyl that on the samples I am being shown by my recover guys.

I need to do the same, but is there a material that is has better mold resistance? Once a litte mold forms, it is impossible to get off, and I have ruined some of the leather/vinyl from using stronger and stronger cleaners to try and clean to bench and back rest!

I to have trouble with mold on my pads.
Have yet to find A good way to remove it without harming the vinyl on our 250DC.
Any help would be GREAT!

I have a 2006 270TE but I have not seen the same problem with mildew, I wonder if the newer models have a different type of material.

I haven't heard from Phyllis, but, the guy at the marine upholstry place gave me a tip. he said they use WD40 to clean and protect the seats when they go out the door. He told me not to use the silicone products like you put on your tires. Who knows if he is right, but, I might give it a try.

On my new (11 mo old) 330TE I have that "mold" inside the vinyl, or whatever they (WC) claim it is. My seats, back rests, and all coaming pads have pink/purple POLKA DOTS. Almost every piece of vinyl on my bat has it.

I have the purple dots on mine too. I have had them replaced twice and it keeps coming back. I gave up. I just tell people that the first signs of seasickness is seeing purple spots. G

Well, I was trying to stay as close to factory original as possible, but, after seeing these posts, I'm leaning towards letting the upholstry guys use there normal marine vinyl. The did show me a couple of different patches and they all look the same from the outside. The difference is the backing. There is really no difference in the cost.
Now, if I wanted to go with close to factory original, the seams are 4" wide which adds a lot to the cost because they must special order a minium size roll. This upholstry guy pointed out that the backing on my seats, which is one of the vinyls he uses, with the exception of the seams not being 4 inches wide, was not his favorite because it did not feel like it was as heavy duty.
The company that built my originally, no longer has the World Cat contract and was not interested in helping.

I have the purple mold on the vinyl captain's chair cushion. This makes for a nice test piece since I can take it off the boat, remove the foam and dump whatever I want into it. So far I've tried alcohol and ammonia. The ammonia did better than the alcohol but wasn't satisfactory. I have a few more things to try before I give up. I wait a few weeks/months between tests, so I haven't gone through many treatments yet. I want to try Hydrogen Peroxide and I have a few commercial mold removers I want to try too. Maybe I'll start a test tomorrow.

The one thing I have noticed about the spots is they seem to fade in the summer. In the winter time they are a nice bright purple!?
