New 200 Suzuki motors on

2018 Suzuki 200s are on and they are a huge improvement over the 135 optimax. Still breaking them in but with full fuel, 200 pounds of ice and gear and 2 people we saw 2.2-2.3 mpg at about 4000 rpm running 30. Conditions were not ideal and forecast was 2-3s all day. Motors have plenty of power and torque which is what I was worried about. Here's a little clip of the run. Will do a full thread of what I have done to the boat once I get my new switch panel in. What did you have before and what was their fuel burn. That's a 266SF, right?
That is way better than my F225's regarding the MPG.
Do you notice any difference about what speed the boat will stay on plane? I know you said it had plenty of torque.

Had 135 optimax before. Fuel burn was kind of similar but I believe the optimax was right at 2.0 if not slightly less loaded. Just got the boat last year and honestly didn't pay much attention to mpg with the older motors. Not sure of the difference in planing speed but the boat seems to jump on plane faster to me.

I have a 1999 266SC currently with the honda 130s. I am contemplating repower options now especially max HP that its rated for (twin 200HP). Did you have to put transom bracket(s) (either custom welded plates or from WC assuming they are still available) on to accomodate the twin 200s ?

I didn't do the brackets. The motors weight approx 60ish pounds more so I guess I'm gonna take the "gamble". Going to keep an eye on everything but so far so good.

Looking good Wes! I'm about three weeks out and am very anxious to feel the differrence from my old 200hp Yamahas 2strokes. I transfered my three batteries to the console more for easier maintenance but should off set the small weight increase some.

Looks good and the motors are awesome. Ran over 200 miles on them this weekend. Ready for my 20 hour service. Only thing wrong is the fuel gauge isn't reading right. Josh is going to have to look at it again, they can't figure it out. Once that's done it should be smooth sailing.

Did the existing holes through the transom line up with the Suzukis VS the Optimaxs with regard to the mounting bracket?

The old holes were used and they fit fine.

Finally got my new panel Installed today and cleaned up some wiring. I hated the old switch panel location.
