New world cat owners

Postby Catillac » Tue May 30, 2006 6:50 am

Well new to us...

We have just recently purchased a 1998 246 sf with 130 hondas after years of debate about cat's. We have had the boat almost a month now and it's not had a weekend off.

I have fished a mono out off the central East Coast of Florida for over 10 years. I have found the cat ride is super dry, and getting better as I learn to run the boat. One of my biggest concerns was bow steer, but after talking to the world cat reps at this weekends Fish Stock tournament I think the problem has been solved. The suggestion from everyone was to add trim to the boat in a following seas.

I had the name " Tail Chaser '' on the old boat, and this forum. The wife has picked the new name of " Catillac ".

Thanks for the help you have given in the past, and hopefully in the future.

I will be fishing/diving mostly out of Ponce Inlet, and some out of Crystal River.

Welcome. I just picked our up 250C Friday. It's been running ever since and I also am learning how to adjust trim.

Getting ready to head out shortly.

Catillac,

Sunday I fished with Chris Curry aka catdawg on the forum and his boat name is Catillac. He runs a 266 SC. Just thought I would mention it

Welcome Tony and Kristy
My wife and I fish out of the Lake Worth Inlet, mostly, in our 266SC with 130 Hondas. If you ever want to go to the Bahamas let me know. We usually clear at West End and get a room at Lucaya and fish out of Lucaya. Sometime I would like to run north to Ft. Pierce, overnight then fish the next day on the east side of the stream. Do you ever fish there?

I would definately be interested in going to the Bahamas. It would have to be later in the year if weather permits. I have never made the trip to West End. I've only been to Bimini and Great Harbor Cay. I'm making a trip in a friends boat in the middle of June to Bimini.

I have fished the East side many of times out of Ponce and Canaveral. Not sure about taking my boat over till I get more hours on it, and the fish show up. It has been a slow year tuna fishing.

What power radar do you have? We have always used a 6k or 10k with a 4' open aray. I'm having problem with the height of my boat on the trailer as it sits now..I'm not sure a radar will make 13' 6'' without a lot of t top fabrication.

My boat measures 13' 6'' to the top of a 4' open array. I have a 270EC on a Road King trailer.
