Refueling Tanks

Postby Jorgegg » Mon Jan 22, 2018 7:25 pm

I have a 2014 255DC, and I love the boat, but the fueling process is difficult.

I'm not able to squeeze the nozzle fully, or even half way, without it stopping because gas doesn't flow that quickly to the tank. I'm not sure what options exist to try to correct (have tried multiple fueling sources), but it's very time consuming to pump the tanks full while only squeezing the nozzle lightly.

I appreciate any insights. JG

Make sure the fuel fill hose from the fill to the tank(s) are not kinked. You could also be having issues with the limit vent valve or inlet control valve. You may also want to check your fuel vents to make sure there aren't any obstructions.

For more information regarding the fuel system, see page 6-29 through 6-31 of the owner's manual.

On my boat, if I don't have the nozzle in the "right" position, I have to fill at a reduced rate because it splashes back. My boat is a 2001, so I don't have the valves mentioned above.
