Key West Cat & Suzuki Issues

Postby Veindoc » Tue Jul 11, 2017 8:38 pm

I've kept my 266SF in Key West for the last 5 years without having a truck or trailer down there. It's always been hard to find places to get maintenance done due to the lack of cat lifts at most marinas. I re-powered two years ago with the Suzuki 200s which I love but am finding it hard to find anyone to work on them. Garrison Bight who installed them dropped Suzuki, Oceanside Marina dumped their maintenance facility in favor of more condos, and everyone else in the area is not accessible by water. Sea Center on Big Pine is my closest now and it's a ways away. Anyone used them in the past?

I have had sea center do some work on some of my boats but not my WC because they don't have a cradle big enough to lift it. They do have one for your boat though. They have been good to deal with.

My bad. I confused Oceanside Marina with Key West Harbor Marina Yacht Club which are side by side. Boat Services Group are on Stock Island, Suzuki authorized and are able to pull at least a 27" cat out. I will be using them soon and report on experience. They say they don't charge for pulling the boat out for repair services. That alone beats Garrison Bight who makes us use Spencer's boatyard for the pull.
