I have made several long trips since my last post as well as inshore runs. Our 4 long trips ranged from 100 - 180 miles round trip. Our latest trip really put the twin trim to the test, we made a canyon run that totaled 180 nasty miles. NOAA predicted 2-3 ft seas, laying down to 1-2 by mid morning, YA RIGHT. We had beaming seas in the 3-4 ft range and we would have turned back without the twin trim. Although we had to constantly change our trim the system made it easy to keep the boat under control and maintain 16 to 19 kts. We got to the canyon and began trolling and as NOAA stated the weather changed mid morning to 3 to 5 ft seas with swells to 8 ft. All I can say is personally the twin trim is one hell of a system. I know the you and the system have taken a bashing in another thread. I didn't make any post because it wouldn't have changed the minds of those who were opposed to it. In all honesty I have only owned a World Cat for 4 seasons and personally had a hell of a time trimming the boat. The control I have this year with the twin trim system has made a world of difference, trimming this puppy out is now a breeze in all conditions. My crew includes my son and 2 licensed Capt's. who have crewed with me since I bought the boat and they all feel the same as I do, That the system really works. I would recommend it to anyone. I do not have the joy stick set up, mine is connected to the trim switches on the throttles, Installation was simple and the learning curve was a short one. I live in Little Egg Harbor, NJ. Hi Everyone
John has put the post I put on another thread here and what is stated is my opinion. As I said my crew and I have only 4 seasons running the 266SC and our season runs from April till the end of November. We do not have the years of experience running the WC as the Beast, Conehed and other senior members do. I have learned a lot from The Beast and he has no problem talking to members on the phone. I know the 32 -33's are easier to handle and everyone is entitled to there opinions and I respect everyone's comments. It seems this thread has become a dispute with members taking sides as far as Pro and Con, and thats sad. On my boat the system is connected to throttle trim switches and personaly I would not like the joy stick set up at all. The crew on the 8 BALL find the twin trim very helpful and feel it was worth the cost. But as I said this is our opinion. Again thanks to all the members who have answered my questions and others, the form is a wealth of information to all.

I agree with the Beast, this is not a forum for selling items, instead it is for helpinfg fellow WC owners. It is one thing for a member to express an opinion, it is another for someone selling something to be allowed to participate and even denounce a fellow member that clearly has no agenda.

B Todd, I agree with both you and the Beast on that point. That is why I posted my reply. I voiced my opinion about the system. Perhaps if I had more experience running the WC I would say Twin Trim system is not for me and ten I would have stated so. I'm seeing less replies to questions on the threads by the long time owners of world Cats. I check the forum every day and see only a few replies. I hope it because members are to busy catching fish.

This entire thread should be moved to the New Products area. I take a peek every time something new shows there and that's not very often.

I agree -- twin trim belongs in the new product section. If you take the time to really understand your cat and how to run it, you would find you can achieve the same results by manually using your individual engine trim switches. :roll: :roll:

I have to say that I don't see the benefit.

I have two trim switches on my Honda's bow leans left trim right, trim-up or down bow use both switches. What does a stick do, you can't do with the two simple switches?

The joystick input is only an option if desired or for some of the after market digital systems that do not have built in trim switches in the throttle's.
I prefer the throttle interface and rarely use the joystick on my boat.
It is there for demonstration purpose only.
Having one hand on the wheel, one on the throttle, and two eyes on the water is the way we should all be driving.
With Honda throttles, as seen in the demo video on our home page your existing trim switches would be converted.
The port switch becomes dual up/down for adjustment of bow angle and the starboard switch becomes roll control.
We have kits that have additional trim switches and bezels to add the second switch in order to have this configuration on Etec, Yamaha 703/704 and Yamaha / Suzuki digital systems
These kits give you roll control under your thumb, and bow angle under your pinky while maintaining individual control of the engines with the switches on the throttle base.
Having these four modes of trim at your fingertips allows you a level of control that is not attainable with the conventional trim configurations. (larry's post)
Short of growing a second thumb on your right hand
Your response time is greatly increased because you do not have to make that choice of port or starboard, up or down and have a 1 in 4 chance of being correct.
By using both motors in an equal and opposite direction for roll correction the response is twice as fast without effect of the bow's angle of attack.
I Know that once you have tried this system on your boat you will not want to go back to the conventional set up you have now and this is why I have always offered a 100% money back guaranty if you do not feel the benefits justify the expense.

With all due respect, If you understand your individual trim switches and their effect on your WC then you can make the trim adjustments without even looking down. It's not a one in four probability it's a 100% certainty if you take the time to understand your boat and how it reacts to trim. For those that do not want to understand what effect raising or lowering either the port or starboard engine has on your vessel then twin trim is for you, but for the rest of us it’s a waste of time and money.

Well I had twin trim on my last Cat and I am having it installed on my new Cat ," quicker and easier ""my opinion " I can go either way with or without , but now my wife can drive the boat with more confidence and so can other's that are not as familiar with how the trim work's on a cat , Each person has there own preference doesn't mean it's rite or wrong .
