Looks like the business end of an ROV. Or maybe like a Alien mothership, which would put you at risk of receiving a Tomahawk via airmail without a RMA slip.

Theres these that I saw in miami, the tojo sea below. They seemed to be pretty heavy duty, mostly metal construction. I wonder how they would be behind the motors though? They were a bit pricey I thought, well maybe you get what you pay for.

a bit pricey if there the same ones I saw down there I think they were brass. $3-400. That's way over pricey.

They are PVC and only $125. The only down side for CAT owners is the motors are in the way. I bought them and will give a report after I try them out.

I like the drain plug idea but not the plastic. Something hits that and it cracks open your day is ruined.

The ones made by the guy that JimC mentioned look interesting and has me thinking .... I might be placing a custom order.

Speaking of plastic
A year or so ago I found myself needing to pull the plug while at sea and that got me thinking. I was not concerned about dropping it and took xtra care not to, but shit does happen. So I bought some 1/2" pvc male adapters, plugged them and filled them with spray foam these are spares and if one is dropped you stand a chance at recovering it, verses it being claimed by the bottom.
