Re: What happened to Bailey?

They should allow Bailey back. He was a constant contributor to the forum. A warning would have been sufficient.

I miss the days when Scott and Phyllis used to monitor and contribute to the forum. Sad, it's a WC forum and they aren't involved in the least bit.

Re: Water in Starboard Hull

The deck drains (the ones under the metal "screen") at the rear are plastic. I have heard of older ones cracking and breaking. You could run some water on the deck and look through the battery access hatches to see if they are leaking.

Re: Transom Bracing

As I recall, this was added in order to accommodate the extra weight of 4 stroke engines (not sure when). Many of the pre-2000 boats max HP were based upon the weight of 2-stroke motors. My 2001 doesn't have that brace.

Hard to tell if that was done at the factory or after the fact.

Re: Turning under speed

That lean is normal while turning. If you trim down and cut it real hard, it will lean somewhat into the turn. Trimming a motor while running depends on how much your motors are trimmed up. It's actually opposite of what you would think. The following is based upon the motors trimmed up during cruis...

Re: Turning under speed

You haven't figured it out yet :D

Is the boat leaning when you are turning or running in a straight line?

I typically trim the motors to make the boat lean into the turn when cornering.

Regardless, the boat isn't going to flip over on you. You just need more time with it.

Re: Want to Buy: Rear Fishbox Lid

I appreciate that. I don't have any fiberglass experience and this lid needs some work.

Want to Buy: Rear Fishbox Lid

If anyone has any idea where I can located a used one, please let me know. It's for a 2001 WC226, but the 246/250, 266/270 (except TE) lids are the same.

I'd also be interested in the port anchor locker lid.

I know the chances of finding these are slim, but I figured I'd take a shot.

Thanks,

Re: Alignment Valve

It would be worth inspecting the inner wall of your cylinder on each motor. I had the same issue, and the wall on one of the cylinders was corroded. My boat sat a long time before I bought it, so I'm thinking water settled in the cylinder and corroded it (the corrosion was along the bottom of the cy...
