Re: Angled rod holders

It is not difficult to add new rod holders with different angles. Just use a hole saw to cut the proper sized hole for the holder you select. You should try to place them where you can access the underside to install nuts and the backing bracket. There are various angles available. Pick a brand that...

Re: RPMs

First of all 5000 rpm for wot is really low. 5000 is at the very bottom of the acceptable range of 5000-6000. Yamaha motors really like to be propped for the very top of the range. That is really not good for the motors at all nor is it good for efficiency. But that is not likely your current proble...

Re: World Cat Keys Trips

We probably won't head over to the Abacos this year but will see. Pretty busy at work and we may just take a week to go up and down the Keys and out to the Dry Tortugas/Marquesas.

Re: World Cat Keys Trips

I would be interested if it is in the mid or lower keys. Try not to boat in little Miami aka Key Largo. ;)

Re: 320CC 300HPS- WHAT SIZE PROPS TO SPIN??

What numbers are you getting with your props? RPM, speed and GPH. Suzuki props are notorious for being under rated for pitch. In other words 18.5 are really 20 or even more when compared to other props. Your best bet is to get detailed performance numbers on your props over the rpm range and call Ke...

Re: Props on a 290cc with Yamaha F250s

Bailey, just remember that your '09 DF250's are 3.6 liter engines with 2.29:1 ratio and mine are the newer big block 4 liter 2.08:1 ratio ones. You will be spinning different wheels even with the heavier boat. Ken is the man. He will lead you right.

Re: Props on a 290cc with Yamaha F250s

Here is my basic experience with the OFS. I went from Suzuki 16x17 to Power Tech OFS 151/4 x19. Tested them a few weeks ago. Initial impression very good. Slightly improved hole shot (not really an issue before), top end stayed the same at around 49mph (it was windy and may get better), got 6000 rpm...
