Re: 266 SF control cable length?

I measured mine while they were installed using a tape measure to approximate the distance. An extra foot of cable should not matter. However, once I disconnected them on each end, I found the cables were OK and the problem of making it hard to shift was due to lack of grease in the fitting on the m...

Re: Repowering my 266SF

I would look at either Zukes or Yamaha. Both are currently producing great engines and have good service networks. Newer yamahas are lighter and now carry a six year warranty. I think weight is a big factor on your hull. My 270SF does not handle the same with Yamaha F225s as my old 266SF with yamaha...

Re: Can anyone tell me why WorldCat did this in 2005 and 2006?

There are a number of questions I would like to have been able to ask the design guys. Another example being the use of deustch connectors in locations you can't access? Really difficult fix when they need replacing. I don't think these would have been used to cut costs, but, there must have been so...

Re: SeaStar Teleflex Dealer suggestion?

towboat, do you have an average or estimate of how long the 1000psi units lasted before failure? Mine got nine years and around 800 hours, which is probably not much usage compared to your boats and how they are used. The previous owner only put 350 hours on the boat in seven years, so, that may be ...

Re: SeaStar Teleflex Dealer suggestion?

I agree with Fishpirate regarding you getting bad information. In my opinion, you do not need the pro series. I'm not sure what series you have on your boat, but, I would go with a direct replacement. I replaced my original unit a couple of years ago with the HH6541-3 which was the new part number f...

Re: Adding four bladed prop to World Cat 266

I've been running the Rev 19's now for a couple of months and am pretty happy with them. No appreciable difference in prop slip, WOT went from 6000 to 5500 with light boat in flat water. WOT speed went from 51mph to 49mph, so, no big deal there. Normal cruising speed stayed the same at 30 to 33mph t...

Re: Helm leak issue

sounds like your o rings might be failing in the helm pump. If so, it will require having them replaced. If you are going to use the boat, take plenty of extra fluid, as that leak may get a lot worse. There's a guy in St. Pete, FL, Charlie, at Southern Charm, who will rebuild it for less money that ...

Re: Happy Dad's day :)

good trip. plenty of dolphin. they were close in at about 400 feet, and yellowtail. Nothing big, but a good trip. I am really thankful now that nobody ran into my trailer, or boat, or truck. If I was looking to get that trailer fixed, I'd check with Southeastern trailer in Tavenier. They are the onl...

Re: Happy Dad's day :)

A belated thank you.
Spent all day yesterday driving back from Islamorada to Destin. 14 hours pulling the boat.
I was surprised how many world cats there are in that area. Unique marine, the dealer there, must be doing a good job.

Re: To much Rain

hope it clears up next week cause we are going to spend the week in Islamorada. I hate to drag the boat all that way to watch it storm.
