Re: SeaStar Teleflex Dealer suggestion?

Our experience is that the 200/225 hp four stroke engines need the 1500 psi system for longevity. We covert all our boats to the pro series for 266/270 cats as the old 1000 psi systems start to fail or start leaking. We have not had to replace the lines, just the helm and two cylinders. We run the 1...

Re: Adding four bladed prop to World Cat 266

You will get a lot of opinions. Over time we have found that the Mirage Plus (Three Blade) in a 18" pitch is the best all around prop for a WC 266/270 with Honda 200/225 with a 1.86:1 lower unit gear radio. We probably have more experience with the World Cat than most since we operate a fleet o...

Re: Props on Zuke 200's

The real key is what RPM are your turning at WOT? If you RPM at wide open throttle, trimmed up, is within your suggested RMP range by Suzuki, then you have it right. The difference in pitch will get you a 200 to 400 RPM reduction in max RPM.

Re: close call

We have found that running a small bead of silicon around the edge of the splash well inspection hatch will fix the problem. If you want to remove the hatch, the thin layer of silicon simply tears away. Problem Solved.

Re: Repower with new Suzuki 200's

Re: Boat Handling Instruction

By now I hope you have received the training you need. However, if not and you are will to travel to Clearwater, I believe we could arrange what you need. Our captains go thorough an extensive training course of 40 hours academics and 30 days on the water before their check ride. Giving a short cour...

Re: Water in Starboard Hull

I would also inspect the bottom front of the hull on the starboard side for damage. Damage can occur from striking something or multiple beaching of the boat on rocky surfaces. Our boat #9 is going in for fiberglass repairs on the Starboard hull for the same reason -- in our case it was striking a h...

Re: Permatrim tabs

Interesting comments. I have always viewed the instability at high speed as a design characteristic of the hull, since as speed increased the effective hull length remaining in contact with the water decreases. I had viewed that at some point we reached a critical point where the WC becomes very ten...

Re: Considering a re-fit on my 2000 266SF

Gators2000, Short answer is Van Wagoner Boats if you do not want to take on the job yourself, but yard labor costs makes a total refit economically unfeasible. The below deck work is not technically difficult, more like grunt work, with two people required about half the time. Not knowing your techn...

Re: Considering a re-fit on my 2000 266SF

The 266SF is the hull of choice as I am not a fan of the walk through feature of the TE. We undertake this project about once a year when we add a boat to our fleet. One of the big considerations is time. This is an enormous undertaking if done correctly. If you are truly going for a refit, then sta...
