Re: The usual looking for a trailer post...

Prokat 2560DC with twin Yamaha 150s.

I looked at the WC 250DC and the 270SD. But the price and weight and new motors with 6 year warranties were tough to beat.

Re: The usual looking for a trailer post...

I truly appreciate The Beast and all his knowledge. I just like to see him get riled up. This forum would be really boring without him. I called Owens & Sons and they said FL will register any trailer. Then told me the number of brakes was up to me and really depended on my tow vehicle. I didn't...

Re: The usual looking for a trailer post...

Beast, and you got mad at me for describing you as "abrasive" once. I plead ignorance and I'm trying to learn something. I have gotten a few quotes on custom trailers and each one comes back with 2 or 3 axles and 1 set of brakes. If its so OBVIOUS that each axle needs its own set of brakes...

Re: The usual looking for a trailer post...

So is everyone running triple disc brakes on triple axle trailers? And has anyone been cited for single brakes on a double/triple axle? It seems most come equipped with a single axle brake.

Re: Side Scan Sonar

I was referring to marking bottom structure in 70fsw or less. Or big wrecks in up to 100fsw. It goes out sideways to 260' I believe. I usually turn the width down to three times the depth. I've never tried it for bait/AJs, my down sonar Furuno shows AJs pretty well. I think it should work if it's ca...

Re: Side Scan Sonar

I have one mounted on my 320ec, like a normal transom mount unit on the port transom. It reads better to the left, I simply tilt both motors up a bit and it works on both sides. I turn it down to 455hz and works well out to 60-70fsw. My boat is in the water and the barnacles build up quick and hurt ...

Re: Battery Compartment

1. Just replaced all 4 batteries with blue top Optimas. I agree, a total PIA. But at least I don't have to check fluids anymore. 2. My neighbor's mechanic ran hoses from his Honda 225s into the hull to a threaded thru-hull on his starboard side. I thought they would get knocked off if he bumped a do...

Re: FL Keys excursion trip June 5th-20th

Sounds like a really fun trip. Your roof looks like a pincushion. Glad the A/C worked out.

Where did you keep the little Genset? Any CO detectors down below?
