Re: Trailer for 266sc...double axel or triple?

My 266 SC with 200 optis full of fuel was 9300#'s including trailer.

I can't say that I had any issues with the tandem axle trailer and even towed at about 30mph pace for about 10 miles with a blown tire.

The triple axle will probably be better but not as good when you do a lot of tight cornering.

Re: Clean Redfish in 18 seconds

Quick and wasteful. I bet there was enough left to nearly feed one person a meal. Still has to fillet the skin off and for better quality meat cut the red out.

Re: taking on water

Many have had good luck replacing the deckplates with the armstrong deckplates, myself included.

If you still have the plastic thru hulls it probably won't be long till you have issues there. I found a couple of mine to be loose and leaking.

Lightning strike WC 24 Sanibel

Read about a lightning strike out of Sanibel Island July 6.
Nothing said about injuries, etc., hope all were ok.
Was it someone here on the board?
I'd be curious to know what the damage was.

Re: Paint My Cat

CoachCap, I am also looking into painting my colored hull, and I am curious if the final look is as "orange Peel" looking as it looks in the pictures. Did your consider spraying? Are you pleased with the final product? Dark colors are very tough, and all imperfections will be magnified? I...

All the twins I've been on have came up at the same speed.

Re: New bait tank

Next time it comes loose try the 3m 77 spray adhesive. Regardless of adhesive, clean both surfaces extremely well. I bought a D shaped soft white rubber from Home Depot or Ace I don't recall now but it seals real well and is one piece all the way around. Ours doubles as a cooler when we're not fishi...

Re: let's talk milage

Here's a pic where I'm getting 1.87 mpg at 31.2 mph and 3700 rpm's (don't recall the load but I know it was full of fuel) I have had trip avg as much as 2mpg and as low as 1.5 typically when we do a lot of idling. The fuel tanks don't weigh that much, its not worth the effort to change them out to s...

Re: New 290DC owner - backing onto beach question?

If you cut it shorter it will make it more difficult to board when your in deeper water.
Since your beaching it, it shouldn't be a problem to just let it fall, it should pivot up and down as the bow moves.
