Upper tower fabrication on 270TE

OK, after dolphin fishing with Brian a few weeks ago I have it stuck in my craw that I need an upper station on my 270TE. It would be great for offshore but really helpful for Cobia along the panhandle. I am in Panama City so I wondered if anyone first knew of a good fabricator, and second has someo...

Dolphin fishing with Brian Cone

Just back from the keys, spent all of last week with the family and got in lots of fishing. Unfortunatly didn't have my boat but did some tarpon fishing with my kids; my daughter, oldest son and middle son all caught fish ranging from 120 to 70lbs and loved every second. Mom, Dad and little brother ...

Re: Upper keys Jul 2011

Sweet, I just booked a trip with Brian for the first week of August. Will be in Islamorada for the week and going one day offshore and two days inshore with Mark Hlis. From the looks of it i will need a bigger cooler. What is the best way to get all that fish home? We are flying.

Re: "Blue Can" modifications

Why did you add the additional legs? Just curious, I have a 270TE that I would like to put a tower on, needs to be a fold down so I can pass under a bridge on my canal but I am thinking i will need something similar for support. Are you considering a tower? Don't know how important it is in your par...

EPIRB Mounting Location on 270TE

Can someone give me some advice on mounting a Class II auto release EPIRB on a 270TE? I used to keep it in my ditch bag but I now have the hydro-static release and want to mount it on the boat. I thought about on top of the hard top or the back of the leaning post. Didn't really want it on the side ...

Mine had the same problem a few years ago and they replaced it no charge, check with Phyliss.

Re: Loading the boat on the trailer

I just loaded my 270 on its trailer for regular maintenance and am always a little nervous, ramps are all a little different, winds and currents change ETC.. What I have found to work best is to sumerge the trailer until you are just to the end of the carpet and just to the edge of the white plastic...

Re: Storage of lead weights on boat

Hmm, bet the idea of the PVC would work, you could make a temporary mounting board for the transom and hook the PVC tubes to that in an upright position. Drill a hole in the bottom and you have your drain, not even sure you would need threaded caps.

Re: Storage of lead weights on boat

Thanks Harry,
I got something similar to that, it is a deep Plano box, not that deep but I have three of them that will store inside one of my small Bass Pro Shop Boat bags. Hopefully they are strong enough to handle the weight of the lead and the banging around the boat.
Appreciate the input.
John
