Re: BF130 problems

Sounds like bad gas issues. Change all the filters; isolate the starboard engine with a one gallon gas tank filled with gas and seafoam. Disconnect at engine at reconnect the temp gas can. Let it run on the earmuffs at idle for around an hour. Repeat procedure . My BF130 (starboard) had same issue a...

Re: 266SC Shift and Throttle Cables.

Ditto on this question. I have same exact boat and previous owner replaced starboard control cable with teleflex xtreme but I could not find the length. I am having issues on port engine so I think I will be running new cable as well.....

Re: New 200 Suzuki motors on

Did the existing holes through the transom line up with the Suzukis VS the Optimaxs with regard to the mounting bracket?

Re: New 200 Suzuki motors on

I have a 1999 266SC currently with the honda 130s. I am contemplating repower options now especially max HP that its rated for (twin 200HP). Did you have to put transom bracket(s) (either custom welded plates or from WC assuming they are still available) on to accomodate the twin 200s ?

Re: Towing truck?

I would be concerned that brakes are not beefy enough on Tundra . I had a Z71 1500 that could tow my WC, but I upgraded to ford f250 for piece of mind especially braking...

Re: Who makes the best trailer

I have owned the original 1999 Float-On for my 99 266SC. I just put new torsion axles on it as they finally wore out. Float-On now uses the DEEMAX disk brakes which are way better than the original brakes the trailer came with.

Helm Light

Can someone please tell me how to remove the light dome on ( under hardtop) a 99 266SC. I need to clean the lens but I cannot seem to budge it. It is functional and I really don't want to break it. It has two pushbutton switches that control main light and the spreader floodlight.

Re: Insurance

I have recieved the same response; some companies associate a powercat with offshore racing hulls. State Farm has been the cheapest so far for me, but not sure how long that is going to last in Fla. Pat

Re: Are World Cats safer or just more comfortable?

I sold my v-hull and bought my cat because of the ride and now that I owned it for a few years, I can say at least for me I feel much safer with my family in its design. I been out in snotty seas and have been damn glad to own the World Cat. Having said that, I still have the utmost respect for the ...

Re: Towing

I currently have a Ford F250 CC 4X4 6.0 diesel to pull my 99 266SC. But, quite frankly I first had a 2002 GMC 1500 Z71 that pulled it just fine. I would look at the new F150 with the new towing numbers and trailer control. I use the F250 as my daily driver also and I wish I had my old Z71 because of...
